I will definitely try Winter sports — just not this year. Next year sounds like an awesome time for that. ;)

Winter photography is oddly uncomfortable. During the day there is far too much light to take pictures comfortably, and the day is far too short to comfortably go to spots that are not covered in snow (during the week at the very least). Pictures at sunrise/sunset though... I find them to be more entertaining in Winter than in any other season of the year. Another bad thing is the fact that cameras get REALLY cold (as do your hands when you hold them).

I do, however, agree on trying something new (and then repeat!). :>

[...] By the time a year had passed since I got my first camera, I knew just enough to move freely through the lands with my camera in hand (whenever I could), but I still found several limitations such as weather or the time of the day due to the subjects and things I was most interested in taking pictures of. A couple of events in the form of a music festival and a convention (both local) gave me the opportunity to try several new things and made me realize how much I love this hobby (I largely spoke about all this in another post).
You really should try winter sports! I was like you for a longer part of my life than your life is long in total yet but now that I finally got 'out there' even if it's cold I found that it actually can be really enjoyable! Yes, cold but also fun. And when it comes to photography, I always wanted to experiment with white-out shots (of course I'd need a proper camera for that first) as I think they can look utterly stunning. And the light on a clear cold day is just something special - also good for seeing far if you get up on a mountain I think.

So, try something new and then ... try something else new too! :)

I completely forgot about the Friday Curry I owed (and owe) you. It is funny that tomorrow's meal was prepared thanks to this particular response. Ha-ha.

Well, well. It is a true shame that picnics are uh... hard to organize with this inclement weather. I owe you curry, and I will pay kindly. Thank you for reading!

Ok, so this post made me hungry on a variety of levels. And it reminded me of something called "Curry Friday" - do you remember? One of those events that I really looked forward to and then for a multitude of reasons just never happened. Well, I guess one day there will be "Curry Friday revisited".
Thanks for today's post, I enjoyed it.

When I first came to Canada I brought all of my albums with their cases with me... the bag in which they came was far heavier than the one that had all of my clothes. Hah. I luckily had been adding those albums to my electronic music library constantly.

Thank you — I will, and I hope you get all your lovely music back soon!

Ahahaha, yeah, reminds me of my first international move when I was unable to take most of my collection with me (and having never bothered to actually add them to an electronic music library). I spent days on end feeding CDs into my computer and still had to leave a lot behind. Now, many years later I am still catching up on this task every time I go back for a visit.
Good luck getting all the files in, I hope you'll get much enjoyment from finally listening to them!

Osu,

Thank you. You know... you are among the humans I blame for my current obsession with posting things in places every day of the year. Heh. Were it not for your blog I would probably have posted my first post of the year yesterday and the next one in March. Having a place to let things be (free) is nice, is it not?

You should definitely do it as well. I know for sure that you have a good eye when it comes to pictures — add more hardware to that, and magic is sure meant to be. :>

Yo man!
I very much enjoy your blog and your daily picture project! Every day you drive the thorn of "I want to do this too" a little bit deeper into my brain and tax-return willing I'll be able to start with photography some time later this year.
Keep up the good work on both this blog and the pictures, it will be very interesting to see where it will lead. :)
